Knuckles are bared when transsexual Arun Palmer (Rebecca Hazlewood) returns to the G-wing. Arun has to face the other women now they know she used to be a man, and she is soon at the centre of some terrifying abuse. Things are not helped when the Governing Governor Neil Grayling’s (James Gaddas) only suggestion is to transfer her to a male prison.

Meanwhile it is the first day on the job for new screw Kevin Spiers (Andrew Scarborough). He is keen to make a good impression with both the guards and inmates. But how far will he go to keep both sides happy?

Pat Kerrigan (Liz May Brice) is off the hook for the riot and attempted murder of the nun. Neil Grayling took pity on her after hearing about her history of abuse at the hands of Sister Thomas. As Pat steps back on the wing she receives a warm welcome from all the women except Natalie Buxton (Dannielle Brent) and Janine Nebeski (Nicola Stapleton), who are fuming to see this popular inmate back.

Broody Di Fenner (Tracey Wilkinson) is devastated, she has just found out Jim (Jack Ellis) has a low sperm count – her dreams of having children are over. Adoption is her next tactic and before Jim can take a breath, she’s made an appointment with an agency. It looks like Jim is trapped but his terrible behaviour at the adoption interview makes it a certainty they won’t get approved.

Arun is suicidal. How can she go on? The thought of being transferred to a men’s prison is intolerable and far worse than staying on G-Wing. Pat is furious that Natalie’s taunts have driven Arun to this and steps in to defend her. It’s not long before Pat is facing up to the evil Natalie Buxton. They will fight this out once and for all but will Pat be strong enough to beat her?

Di soon discovers on a new way of getting a baby when she meets ex-drug addict and inmate Sheena (Laura Rogers), who has a nine month old baby destined for Social Services. Rather than hand the child over, Di steps in as her caring new solution. What will Jim do when he hears what Di’s just arranged to bring home?
