SynopsisAdam prepares for his wedding day, but a series of disasters makes him late. When he eventually arrives, Jessica is dismayed to see her groom and guests called away to an ED emergency but, back at the hospital, she helps the team out and arranges for Trevor to perform a blessing in the chapel.
However, as the happy family make their way to the reception, Adam is forced to swerve to avoid an oncoming vehicle. The car skids onto some ice, which slowly begins to crack underneath the weight.
Ruth and Jay are happy to be back on track but when Jay asks if he can move in, Ruth is adamant - no way. However, when she realises how happy Adam and Jessica are, and sees Jay tenderly helping out a frightened patient, she agrees they should give it a go.
Zoe is determined to prove she's back on form and works tirelessly through an 18 hour shift. But when she finally reaches the reception and gets a frosty welcome from Jordan, she downs the champagne once more.
Jessica and Adam save Lucas and Amelia, but are plunged into the water with Harry as the car starts to sink. With Jeff's help, Adam manages to drag Jessica, then Harry from the icy water and, back at the hospital, continues to treat them, despite advice from his colleagues.
Elsewhere, Jay teases Ruth about moving in - she can't hide much from him now. Ruth pales as she recalls the abortion she's kept hidden from Jay. As they continue their shift and uncover a devastating secret a patient has been harbouring, Ruth realises it's time she owned up to Jay. She tells him she aborted, not miscarried, their child. Jay leaves, shattered.
Harry stabilises, but Jessica's condition worsens and Adam realises the only way to save her is if Jordan operates.
